Bussey, IA – The Twin Cedars Community School District is pleased to announce Alana Hutchinson as the new Elementary Principal and Director of Curriculum & Instruction. Hutchinson brings a wealth of experience in school leadership, curriculum development, and student-centered education.

Hutchinson currently serves as an Elementary Principal in Oskaloosa, where she has led significant school-wide initiatives in curriculum alignment, instructional improvement, and behavior management. Prior to her principalship, she worked as a K-12 School Improvement Consultant at Great Prairie AEA, supporting schools in professional learning, data-driven decision-making, and instructional best practices. Her background also includes experience as an Instructional Coach and Social Studies Teacher, further showcasing her expertise in curriculum leadership and staff development.

A passionate advocate for small schools and rural education, Hutchinson has strong ties to the Twin Cedars community. She and her family reside in the area, and she looks forward to bringing collaborative leadership, strategic planning, and a student-focused approach to the district.
