The stage is set, the magic is brewing, and a classic fairytale is about to get a hilarious twist!
Twin Cedars students and director Makayla Hirchak are busy preparing and excited to bring the play, Fairy Godmother-In-Training, to the stage. Showtimes are Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $5, junior high and high school student tickets are $3, and elementary students are admitted free.
Fairy Godmother-In-Training is a fresh and imaginative spin on the beloved story of Cinderella. As the Fairy Godmother prepares to retire, her apprentice Lucinda must prove she’s ready to take over. Her first challenge of helping Cinderella get to the royal ball goes hilariously wrong when a spell switches their bodies.
With only limited guidance, Lucinda and Cinderella must work together to fix the mistake while learning to see life from each other’s perspective. Meanwhile, the prince struggles against his father’s expectations as he dreams of leaving the kingdom. With time running out and magic gone awry, will Lucinda be able to fix her mistake and prove she’s ready to become the next Fairy Godmother?
Featuring a talented cast, the production brings these characters to life:
Mason Ervin as the King
Maddison Wolfe as Antoinette
Jordyn Greatbatch as Prince Charming
Rebecca Root as Lucinda
Jasmyne Johnson as the Fairy Godmother
Saphira Evans as Cinderella
Kat Luckey as the Stepmother
Claire Root as Odette
Aurora Johnson working behind the scenes
Hirchak shared, “This production is a fun, family-friendly experience filled with humor, heart, and an important reminder that sometimes the best way to understand someone is to walk in their shoes. Our students have been working incredibly hard, and we hope you’ll come out to support them and enjoy the show!”
