Twin Cedars Names Kylee Martin Next Junior High/High School Principal
The Twin Cedars Community School District has named Kylee Martin as the next junior high and high school principal pending board approval. Martin will officially begin leading the Twin Cedars Junior High and High School on August 1, 2026.
Martin began his career with the Ottumwa Community School District in 2014 and has served as the high school band director since 2022. Prior to that role, he directed elementary band, K-2 general music and the fifth-grade honor choir. Throughout his tenure in the district, he has served on a variety of committees, most recently collaborating with students and administrators to address chronic absenteeism.
Twin Cedars Superintendent Scott Bridges said, “Kylee’s enthusiasm, leadership experience and ability to build strong relationships with students and staff make him an outstanding addition to the Twin Cedars team. We are excited to welcome Kylee to the district and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our school community.”
Martin added, "I am excited to join the Twin Cedars family. I am eager to help the district reach their goals and continue the great work they have already started. I look forward to getting to know all of the staff, students, and families.”
Martin earned a master’s degree in educational leadership with a principal endorsement from Viterbo University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Central College.
The position attracted 11 qualified candidates and three finalists were interviewed. The district worked with Grundmeyer Leader Services (GLS) to conduct the search.

🚓👮♂️ Twin Cedars Preschool had an exciting visitor today! Lieutenant Kingery stopped by and gave us a tour of his patrol car! 🚔✨
The kids got to check out the flashing lights and sirens 🚨, see the computer inside the car 💻, learn about stop sticks, and saw the drone! 🚁 One of the biggest highlights was everyone getting a turn sitting in the back of the patrol car! 😄
It was such a fun and educational experience, and our preschoolers absolutely LOVED every minute of it! 💙 Thank you, Lieutenant Kingery for taking the time to visit Twin Cedars Preschool and teach us all about what you do to help keep our community safe! 👏😊
