Approval of the Revenue Purpose Statement will allow the district to continue to access future funds made available through the Iowa Legislature’s extension of the Secure an Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE), commonly known as One-Cent Sales Tax.
THIS IS NOT A NEW TAX OR A TAX INCREASE. We are going back to the voters for approval of the Revenue Purpose Statement to meet the requirements of the SAVE extension. The Revenue Purpose Statement simply spells out how the district can spend the SAVE revenue.

In September, students focused on photography and selecting cover art. The focus for October was on fundraising to cover the production costs of the books. They visited businesses in Bussey, Albia, and Knoxville to sell ad space in the yearbooks.

Your student is invited to join us on an educational trip to New York City in Spring of 2027! This trip provides lots of opportunities that cannot be found local, both educationally and culturally. This opportunity is a great chance for students to enhance their education and futures outside of the classroom!

Twin Cedars is hosting motivational speaker Mike Donahue for presentations to JH/HS students, staff and parents on Tuesday, October 28.
He will speak to junior high and high school students and staff in the morning, followed by a meeting with the student leadership council in the afternoon. His presentation will introduce Value Up, a character and leadership curriculum that the district will continue to implement with students throughout the year.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS - come and hear his powerful message at 5 p.m. in the High School Gym.
Mike Donahue is the founder and director of Value Up, a Kearney Nebraska based motivational company that focuses on positive school culture. He has spoken to over a million students throughout the last three decades in live settings. He has worked with young people all over the world including the United States, Asia, South America, and Europe.
Mike has authored four books: Reinventing My Normal, Hidden Scars, Talking to Brick Walls, and his latest book, Value Up.
Mike has come to understand that so many teen issues are directly related to how students view themselves. If a student believes they have high intrinsic value and identify with that high value, they make life choices that match their perceived value identity. Students who value and respect themselves make positive life choices and show greater value and respect to others. Value Up was created to amplify value in every student, resulting in strengthening a positive school culture.
Next week we’ll be celebrating Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide campaign to promote healthy, drug-free choices! Each day will feature a fun dress-up theme to help remind students that making positive choices matters.
We encourage all students to participate and show their support for living drug-free!
